Do I need a prescription?

Yes. Rapamycin is a prescription drug. Two paths: (1) Have your local vet send a prescription to HelpingPetsLiveLonger@gmail.com, or (2) Book a Longevity Strategy Session with Dr. Kevin — he will evaluate your dog and prescribe directly if appropriate.

 

My dog isn't sick. Why would they need rapamycin?

Because aging begins long before disease becomes visible. Rapamycin's benefits are greatest when started before decline accelerates — just like the best time to invest is before you need the return. Most of Dr. Kevin's most successful patients started rapamycin while they were still apparently healthy.

 

How is rapamycin given?

One pill, three times per week. Given with food, and maybe a little olive or fish oil for best absorption.   The protocol is simple — and the acid-resistant formulation HPLL uses ensures the drug survives the journey to where it's needed.

 

Can rapamycin be combined with Acarbose?

Yes — and the combination is one of Dr. Kevin's most effective longevity strategies, particularly for male dogs. Rapamycin targets mTOR; Acarbose targets metabolic aging through glucose pathways. Together, they address aging from multiple directions.

 

What about dogs with existing medical conditions?

At higher doses, rapamycin can spike blood sugar.  This almost never happens at the low doses we use, but if your dog is diabetic we should talk.  Your dog's full medical history is reviewed before any prescription is written.
